Normally I don't like blueberries in smoothies because my old and truly wonderful Oster blender couldn't make them smooth enough for my palate. This blender is awesome- love it!
This smoothie is the only food I will eat for the next 24 hours as I am embarking on a 7 day detox plan with those 'Raw Divas' as guides. Another fruit smoothie in 24 hours but until then only water. Sounds good...
Then for the next seven days, my diet will consist of raw fruits and vegetables with no fat or nuts or any of the other foods that rawmaniacs like to eat.
Freedom from compulsive overeating is bringing joy and gratitude. And then there is that serenity that comes from knowing that I didn't go over that cliff today. Life is good.

This is wonderful, you sound so happy and so alive! Would love to have some more information about 'raw food'. Detox away, sounds like it's doing you all kinds of good!
ReplyDeleteThe biggest change for me in following a mainly raw foods diet is to start each day with a green smoothie. Greens such as spinach, kale, collards, romaine lettuce, parsley, etc. blended thoroughly with fruit. I usually use a banana for creaminess and then add strawberries, blueberries, mango or some other fruit. Start with 60% fruit and 40% greens and work from there. The rest is a matter of taste and inclination- raw soups, dips and spreads made with soaked nuts, yummy desserts using nuts and dried fruits, etc. There are numerous websites with info on transitioning to raw foods.
